Returns Policy

As Starlight Books is a travelling bookshop, we know that returning items can be more complicated than other shops. Below is information on how you return items, depending on whether you purchased them from us in person or from our online shop.

Returns - In Person Purchases

When you buy goods from a business, in law you have a number of rights as a consumer. These include the right to claim a refund, replacement, repair and/or compensation where the goods are faulty or misdescribed.


In addition to your legal rights, we also allow you to return goods if you simply change your mind. Please return the unused goods to us with the receipt within 14 days and we will offer you an exchange or a credit note. If you are unable to come to us within 14 days, please contact us within 5 days and we will give you an address to send the item to - the item must be received within 14 days of purchase to be eligible for exchange or credit.

Returns - Online Purchases

For online purchases, in law you have the right to return items within 14 days of receipt for a refund. If you wish to return your unused goods to us, please email caitlin@starlightbooks.co.uk with your order number and we will give you an address to send the items to. 

Returns - Gifts

If you have received something from our shop as a gift and would like to return is, please email caitlin@starlightbooks.co.uk with as much detail as you can (description; who purchased it; and when it was purchased) and we will try to help you. Alternatively, the person who purchased it can contact us using the above policies.
